Dr. Andreas Hänel
Chief Executive Officer
Born in 1958.
Founding member of the company.
Andreas Haenel studied mechanical engineering, aerospace technology and environmental engineering at the Technical University of Munich. He earned his doctorate with a thesis on a method to assess the environmental relevance of industrial products. Andreas Haenel has been active in the field of photovoltaic system engineering since 1987. As Chairman of the Board of Phoenix Solar AG, he led the company from a Solar Initiative to a joint stock company.

Manfred Bächler
Chief Technology Officer
Born in 1963.
Studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and has been active in the photovoltaic industry since 1990. In 1995, after several years at an international consultancy focussing primarily on research and develoment of PV system technology, Manfred Bächler founded MHH Solartechnik GmbH, a company based in Ulm and focussing on PV plant construction. Simultaneously he served as an expert technical advisor to the "THERMIE Technical Management Programme" of the EU Commission's Directorate-General for Transport and Energy (DG TREN). In the spring of 2000 Mr. Bächler became Phoenix Solar's Chief Technology Officer. Manfred Bächler is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Phoenix Solar Energy Investments AG.

Dr. Murray Cameron
Chief Operating Officer
Born in 1962 in Northern Ireland.
Founding member of the company
He studied astrophysics in London and obtained his doctorate there in 1988. From 1988 until 1994 he was project manager at the Max-Planck-Institute for extraterrestrial physics in Garching near Munich. Murray Cameron has been active in the field of photovoltaics since 1994. Particularly due to his three-year position as General Secretary of the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) and as its Vice President from 2003-2005, he is deeply familiar with the photovoltaic market worldwide. Since May 2006 he has resumed the position as Vice President at EPIA after being its President in 2005/2006. He took up his position as COO at Phoenix Solar AG in 2003.

Sabine Kauper
Chief Financial Officer
Born in 1968.
Following her training in an auditing company with international business, Sabine Kauper studied business administration with electives in tax and auditing. After successful completion of her degree course, she worked for an auditing company for four years. Sabine Kauper is on the Supervisory Board of Phoenix Solar S.r.l., Italy.

Ulrich Reidenbach
Chief Sales Officer
Born in 1959.
Ulrich Reidenbach holds a degree in civil and industrial engineering. He brings extensive sales experience from a number of different positions. Since 1999, he has been Managing Director for Germany and, most recently, Commercial Director Western / Central Europe at a leading manufacturer of building components. He took up his new duties on 1 December 2008.

Joachim Simonis
Executive Vice President European Sales
Born in 1956
Joachim Simonis studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Over the last 25 years he worked in sales for a number of companies in different markets and sectors. His career at Phoenix Solar AG began in 2004 when he took over as head of Sales Germany for the Components & Systems Division (K&S). His position was subsequently extended to cover Europe and then, in 2008, to include power plant sales. Joachim Simonis has held the position of Executive Vice President for European Sales since 1 January 2009. In this position he is responsible for expanding the sales activities of the companies in Europe. Joachim Simonis has been an authorised representative of Phoenix Solar AG since 1 May 2009. He reports directly to the Chief Sales Officer.
Dr. Torsten Hass
Executive Vice President of Solar Energy Investments
Born in 1949
Dr. Torsten Hass studied law at the universities of Mainz and Marburg. After gaining his doctorate and completing his second State Board Examination, Dr. Hass worked for a number of years in the Legal Department of a major bank before taking over the management of a property leasing company. Dr. Hass then supplemented his professional experience as managing director of an investment company. In 2004, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Phoenix Solar Energy Investments AG, a subsidiary of Phoenix Solar AG. Since the business combination of Phoenix Solar Energy Investments AG with the parent company in July 2009, Dr. Torsten Hass has headed up the two units of Solar Energy Investments and Emerging Markets as Executive Vice President.
Ralph Schneider
Executive Vice President of Solar Energy Investments
Born in 1966
Ralph Schneider studied business administration at the Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie München (Administration and Business Academy) and real estate economics at the European Business School of Oestrich-Winkel. After long-standing experience in the audit divisions of two major German banks and positions held at management level in investment companies, Ralph Schneider joined a module manufacturer in the photovoltaic sector in 2003. In 2006, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Phoenix Solar Energy Investments AG. Since the business combination of Phoenix Solar Energy Investments AG with the parent company in July 2009, Ralph Schneider has worked for Phoenix Solar AG as Executive Vice President of Solar Energy Investments.
