Sulzemoos, 5 April 2005 / Phönix SonnenStrom AG (ISIN DE000A0BVU93), one of Europe’s leading suppliers of solar electricity systems, generated a net income of EUR 2.5 million in 2004, calculated on a provisional basis. This is the best result in the history of the company.

Sales soared 186 percent to EUR 67.2 million as against EUR 23.5 million in the year-earlier period. This is evidence that Phönix SonnenStrom AG grew at a significantly faster rate than the photovoltaics market which is itself a high-growth market. The company considerably expanded its market share. The main engine of the company’s growth was its business in Germany. The National Business segment contributed 72 % to annual sales, with the large-scale PV plant construction business generating 24 % and International Business 4 %.

The operating result (EBIT) rose by EUR 4.3 million, from minus EUR 1.5 million in 2003 to plus EUR 2.8 million in 2004. The EBIT margin came in at 4.2 % (2003: minus 6.4 %).

The figures cited above are provisional. Phönix SonnenStrom AG will be publishing its full, certified annual financial statements, along with its Annual Report 2004 in June 2005.
