Solar electricity. A clever investment.

A solar electricity system is a sound investment of capital – with a financial yield which is secured under the law for a period of 20 years. Under the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG), grid operators are obliged to pay a fixed amount per kilowatt hour of solar electricity fed into the grid: the so-called feed-in tariff (43.01 cent / kWh*). Your personal investment strategy pays off when the sun comes up, day after day – for 20 years.

* Photovotaic systems < 30 kWp; upon becoming operational in Germany in 2009

A cash gift from the sun

The table below gives you an overview of how much energy the sun gives us every year – free of charge, an unfailing source which is environmentally sound!

Area of roof used Average electricity yield Annual yield*
13 m² 1,500 kWh / year EUR 645 / year
25 m² 3,000 kWh / year EUR 1,290 / year
33 m² 3,900 kWh / year EUR 1,677 / year
40 m² 4,700 kWh / year EUR 2,021 / year
48 m² 5,700 kWh / year EUR 2,452 / year
56 m² 6,600 kWh / year EUR 2,839 / year
All data in this table is based on assumptions and need to be recalculated in each individual case.

The German Renewable Energy Act (EEG)

The German Renewable Energy Act (EEG) guarantees you remuneration for the solar electricity generated by your system and fed into the grid.  This remuneration depends on the size and type of the photovoltaic system and is secured over a period of 20 years. The table below shows the remuneration rates for systems went into operation in 2009.

Year 2009
Roof-mounted systems up to 30 kWp 43.01 ct / kWh
Roof-mounted systems larger than 30 kWp 40.91 ct / kWh
Roof-mounted systems larger than 100 kWp 39.59 ct / kWh
Ground-mounted systems 31.94 ct / kWh
