The principle of photovoltaics is simple. The light particles of sunlight (photons) make contact
with a solar cell and are directly converted into solar electricity. The process is silent and
smooth. This makes a solar electricity system extremely low in maintenance and a reliable generator
of electricity for many years to come.
Is your house suitable?
The ideal roof for solar electricity faces south with an angle of 30°. Thin-film modules,
however, enable east/west-facing roofs or roofs with a slight angle to be used to achieve good
yield. What is important is that the planner combines all available technology into an optimum
overall solution. A prerequisite is a visit to the site. Phoenix Solar partners offer this service
free of charge.
How much effort does the installation involve?
A solar electricity system can generally be mounted by an expert within a week. Minor electrical
work has to be done in the house. In most cases, the existing cable channels can be used to lay the
solar cable from the roof to the inverters and the house connection.
What happens on the roof?
Your roof will be given a second skin. A few roof tiles will be lifted slightly only during
assembly in order to screw the system onto the roof beams. Afterwards the tiles will again cover
the area securely where the assembly was fixed. In future, your roof will be protected by the solar
modules from the impact of the weather. It will heat up less in summer, and the tiles will have a
longer life.
